The Springs Resort & Spa - Costa Rica

I never believed that where you stayed could make the trip. I always figured the destination was the only thing that mattered and then give me a motel, a tent, my car, or even just the ground to close my eyes in between adventures. And then I stayed at the Springs Resort and Spa in Costa Rica. Talk about luxury and bringing a vacation to another level!

The Springs Resort Costa Rica

The moment we walked in and were greeted with local cocktails I knew this was no Motel 6! As our own personal guide gave us the grand tour of the 4 restaurants, 28 hot springs, swim-up bar, monkey slide, and spa, each step blew me away more and more. But the true royal experience came as we stepped into the room and got our up close and personal view of Arenal Volcano.

After we got settled in we headed to Tres Cascadas for dinner and the food tasted even better than it looked! House-made tortillas, Costa Rican Casado, Gallo Pinto, everything was delicious! Everything about the resort seemed to spell luxury and romance. It was voted one of the top honeymoon destinations and I could see why. But there was something for everyone here. The monkey slide and game room for kids, the romantic hot springs and dark nooks for couples, and the swim-up bar and adventures at Club Rio for everyone else!

To amp up the adrenaline, we went river tubing next. Let me just tell ya, this was no lazy river! We spun, held on tight, and went past boulders and took on the rapids not once but twice down the river! The guides were incredible at keeping us safe and getting us out of "rocky" situations. Club Rio did not disappoint my adventurous spirit.

The greatest thing to me about The Springs and Club Rio was the combination of relaxation & luxury, and adventure & adrenaline. I knew I had packed my trip with two sometimes three adventures a day and was worried that I would be too worn out to fully enjoy the experience, but with such a relaxing place to come back to at night it kept my trip in perfect balance. To horseback ride and zipline through the jungle and then relax in a hot spring and watch the sun set over Arenal volcano was Pura Vida at it's finest!
